These are my 6 x 10 Minilites with S disc conversion and Minifins. Does anyone know the legalities of tyres protruding from the arches? I've had a look but can't seem to get a definite answer.

highly doubt you'll ever get pulled up for that! Not even by MOT in my opinion!

Car is jacked up due to new cones. Going to let it settle a while then adjust the hi - lo's if required.

I didn't think so but found it hard getting an answer. I've heard that if the vehicle is under a certain weight you don't need arches ( hotrods)

Nice mk3.
Can't see any legal issues with tyre protrusion there.
Wheels / tyres protruding beyond bodywork is not an mot failure - there is a specific advisory item for it though.
It's probably a construction and use issue, I got pulled several times by the same copper in the mid 80's for my 5 x10 compomotive tf's protruding beyond the body (no arches).
I'll have to look out a photo of the car to see how much they stuck out.

Thanks imack, it's a work in progress. I imagine the tyres are one of the many items that are illegal but are seldom acted upon.

I had Cooper S reverse rims on mine in the 80s. Lowered and neg camber (cut the trumpet and drilled bottom arm. It had a very mean stance but no arches. I can't actually remember the width of the wheels. 5s I think. I am not sure which way to go with mine. Non arches I think I am leaning to or at the most some narrow arches.

My Japanese export spec. Minilite Mk 11 6x10 alloys with deeper dish ET-15 offset and fitted with Dunlop R7 165/70x10 tyres with the classic 1960's style Dunlop CR65 tread pattern plus Wood & Pickett arches.

My other favorite 6x10 are these very expensive J A Pearce Engineering’s wheels below with optional spinners! (as seen at a show but not my car)

Have a soft spot for minilites. White with a black roof looks good. Marginally better than the reverse in my opinion
I think it will be revos. Just need to see 5s and 6s to decide. I am going tartan red with black roof. .... eventually. Lol

There really is no nicer alloy wheel for a Mini than a 10" Minilite, in fact Im going to lobby parliment to ban the sale and fitment of any other wheel on a mini once they have their current little issues sorted out ;D

For me the 6" is too wide without arches, 4.5 or 5 just look so right.
