Have you actually tested the horn unit itself?

I would say the next move is to check the relay. I don't know off hand which one it is, but try swapping them over.

Horn not working, Help.......

Horn has been tested and works out of the car. I have 7 volts when the horn button is pushed with the horn removed.

Relay clicks and I have replaced it with a new one.

Anyone have any ideas?

:tumble:

I have a new relay and have swapped relays....

Well that leaves you probing the connections from the fuse to the relay, to the horn; checking continuity and voltage.

You've tested all the component parts, so it has to be the wiring.

Have you cleaned up the earth behind the expansion tank? It's a multi earth point.

I have 12v present on pin 87 of the relay (output) and 12v to the horn (with the horn removed) when the buttons on the steering wheel are pressed.

With the horn in place using the same earth as the previous test I have 0v at the horn.

Pins 30 and 85 are constant 12v live feed via the 20amp fuse.

Pin 86 is connected to the steering wheel switches and the alarm.

When the switches are used or the alarm is activated the relay is energised (clicks).

Have you tested continuity between the earth pin in the horn connector and any good other good earth?

The horn is earthed via the bracket it is mounted on to the body work.

I have had the horn earthed via an earth strap coming directly from the alternator, when it was removed from the car.

The same earth strap connects to the body work at the same point as the bracket that holds the horn.

The diagram you posted says otherwise.

Horn is now working, I've bypassed the feed from the relay by disconnecting the original feed and running a new one.
