There are 8 in total .. 5 are clear and 3 are orange(capped)
When I ordered from supplier I was told all 8 bulbs should be clear an most likely somebody has replaced clea4 ones with orange.
Is that correct?
Bulbs as they came out are ...
5 top .. orange / clear / clear / clear / orange
3 bottom .. clear / orange / clear

yes they should all be white originally.
Thanks
The 3 orange capped ones are dial illumination so maybe someone thought that would look better if orange ?

These are all white LEDs. I wouldn't change the indicator, headlight/oil/charge bulbs - It can cause a few issues with them. I bought 10x 501s and 10x 286 from ebay for £5.

I am about to change all my illumination bulbs in my Monte (magnolia clocks) with warm white LEDs and see how that looks. Bright white always seems "too white", a bit harsh, and much too modern for my taste. I'll see if mine are capped. They do seem very yellowish so maybe.

A little tricky to see which I like best. The capped always seemed very dim and yellow/orange to me. I’ll take another tomorrow with the uncapped and the led in the speedo and tach as I think that will be a better comparison as they are lit the same way. I really like the idea of LED (less power consumption/heat) but worried these might be too bright!!! As I have said earlier, warm white (be it in this case very bright) gives off a more natural color light vs the blue you get from what most call “white” LEDs.

Original capped bulbs vs warm white LEDs.
I discovered that if you put the orange rubber caps that were on the original non-LED bulbs on to the new LED's you get a cool green glow. Old photo but looks great in my humble opinion so I've stuck with it :)

That’s a pretty interesting color. If I have time, I’ll try that just to see what mine will look like
