hello.

I have previously asked this questions
http://www.theminifo...auge-measuring/

I then bought a set of these new pistons:
http://minispares.co...ADU3490-20.aspx

and what turned up was a set of county pistons.

but the box does not contain any information on the piston to bore clearance or how far up the skirt they want it to be measured.

do any of you know this information?

thanks in advance

If the information isn't supplied with the box, I would suggest asking Mini Spares for it.

Standard road use. Daily driver. 40-50bhp. Hopefully lasting 40k miles or more before starting to burn oil.

I got hold of a mini mk2 workshop manual and in that the clearance is specified to be 0.0005 - 0.0011" why are these numbers so different from engine type to engine type?

Experience, also th new pistons are not the same as the old ones. Unlike most people on this forum, I own my own boring equipment and frequently bore blocks for customers. I would machine this block to those clearances state to avoid any problems.
