I put a 266 in an 1100 engine. The torque was very good, but fuel consumption was not; I only got about 35mpg

I put a Towing Cam in a 2 litre Pinto engine in a kit car; the effect was dramatic. The torque was extremely.good. Fuel consumption improved. It is a shame there does not seem to be a cam for the mini that targets 1000-3000 rpm. I guess other limiting factors put the kibosh on it?
