I have ordered many things from Mini Spares in the past but never had to deal with their customer service so up until this point has nothing to gauge it on but must say I am not impressed.

I ordered a brake caliper from them but have had some issues and need to contact them.

So I rang them on the phone (admittedly a Saturday) and was told that I would need to speak to the technical team but they were not available. I was then told the best option was to send the an email and somebody would get back to me. So I logged onto the website and submitted one to the technical team.

Over a week and a half passed but no response so I sent a new email via the website to the general team just asking if my previous enquiry had been looked at and if it was progressing?

Days more have passed and I am yet to receive any kind of reply at all from them.

Now before everybody starts jumping in and saying give them a call, I tried this first off and was told to send an email in. Also if you are going to offer an email service on your website then it should be monitored and managed. If you do not have the time or staff to do this then remove it completely and just list a phone number.

Bit of a rant I know but it's something that really bugs me when a company has a contact form but do not reply to it.

**Rant over**

Call them. They answered the phone but not emails. I know they said to email but thats clearly not working. So rather than repeatedly sending emails just call them.
Please don’t take this as a criticism. I agree that if they offer an email address and indeed tell you to use it then they should reply but if they’re not then call them.

From my own experience, this is a bit unusual for Mini Spares, their customer service is usually very good. Certainly the few times I have needed to contact them (and always by email), they have been really good, very prompt.

Id also say call if its urgent. I too had a bit of a messup on an oil pipe I ordered - the fittings were the wrong way round- and I had to email twice as I didn't get their answer the first time. Sometimes things go off - whilst very unusual for emails to go missing - but it may have been the case with you that they sent you a reply and it never came.
Minispares has a reputation for being solid so Im fairly confident they will get back to you.

I would guess a tech error as they are always spot on for me. Did you use this contact http://www.minispare...t/default.aspx

I recently had issues with out of spec shims, a selection of new parts was checked with a vernier and delivered to me the following morning in case I needed them in a hurry which was very impressive stuff from Dave Howarth.

I have been dealing with Mini Spares for 30 years and they are, quite simply, the best classic Mini supplier.

I've had issues with the 'other lot' in the North-West' a few times, but Mini Spares have always been the top guys. Also, they do put a lot into product development and research to try to get their stuff at a good quality and a reasonable price.

All Mini parts are low-volume now and to get quality with low volume and affordable price is a real challenge, as any manufacturing engineer will tell you.

Any problems, just contact Simon and he will sort it promptly.

I have to say that I totally agree with ALL the posts so far. Including the O.P.

Minispares are my go-to company for parts and they make an excellent job of carrying out their primary functions. However, there is room for improvement in their biggest selling aid, their website. There not as bad as some by any means but the person that checks that the websites functions work correctly on a regular basis, in not doing a very good job. Three emails sent to Minispares this year, on different subjects, via their website contact page and direct to [email protected], have gone unanswered. Errors in a manual page causing me to order incorrectly, are still unchanged. I thought they would jump straight onto something like this as it directly affects sales. I am so grateful when customers point out errors in my website, but some web designers take it as a criticism!

If I have a query out of hours, I now wait until the next day and phone, not as convenient but you get a quick response and resolution.

OK, so 9 out of 10 for Minispares but, "Could do better".

I've always found them to be good to respond and if you dig around on t'interweb you can find Simon (the manager's) direct email.  Gotta agree on the website, it's a bit hit and miss in the odd place - much more hit than miss though.

Apart from Keith (the guv'nor), there are 3 guy to whom I go for any advice or special assistance. In no special order they are Simon at Potters bar, Richy at Mini Spares North and Gary at Potters Bar. You will not find more capable, helpful and friendly people. Any problems just give any one of them a call.

Have you checked your junk folder?

Your email could have also ended up in minispares junk email folder, so worth ringing just in case.
