I've got a mk3 mini 1000 in Australia (1972) and there's lots of bits missing including the ignition switch. can anyone point me in the direction of a new switch? they seem hard to find. thanks

If its the same as the UK spec switches for early mk3's then they are no longer available. There was a thread on here recently about them.

Thanks guys, Its going to be hard and expensive to get an original I think. If only I'd bought an Aussie mini I'd have less of a headache. I was thinking maybe a switch from something else might fit, has anyone tried it?

Some possibilities:

Morgan             https://www.ebay.com...ys/263933511438

MG              https://www.ebay.com...W-/381568950524

                     https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-BHM7144X

RR Classic   https://www.ebay.co....5.c100013.m1986

I reckon either RRC  or MG would work fine with some mods to the clamping diameter. Thoughts?

Hi,

Do you need just the switch or the lock and barrel as well?

Cheers  :proud:

Hi All,

I had a little win and have some good info for anyone looking to replace their NLA Early MK3 switch. I spent 12 hrs solid at work looking on the net for possible other switches that would fit, I eventually settled on this MGB switch, I took a gamble and bought it and it turned up yesterday and fits well, haven't tried the cowl on it yet but it should fit. It's a Neiman switch and looks pretty similar to the mini one, not that I had one to compare it to.

There are other mgb switches which look the same but appear to fit a larger diameter steering column, this particular one is the only one I found with the smaller diameter and it fits the mini.  The part number is ADU 3341

I'm pretty sure I have one of these, not sure how I ended up with it, but it's junk to me (as in it fits nothing I have or will ever likely have). Drop me a PM if you like.
