So is the "Minilite" being sold by Minisport, obviously a different wheel to the Minispares version, not really a Minilite? I've found 3 suppliers, 2 have the original logo'd centre caps, all different wheels! Minispares don't show a centre cap on their site and the Minisport version has the same product code as listed on the "Minilite" site. Minispeed is the third supplier I've found. It's as clear as mud!

Forget about the centre cap logo that can easily be copied, what you want if you want the current  Minilite wheels are the wheels that have Minilite and England cast into them as I previously said, any other wheel of the same style is not a Minilite wheel as it wont have the Miniite  name cast into it, simple really.

If you wanted a pair of Levi jeans you wouldn't buy a pair of jeans with a Wrangler logo sewn into them would you? Both jeans but both different.

Here is the trademark dispute from a good few years back that Chris John Brown, Mr JBW and Midland Wheels, Wolfrace etc tried to bring to use the Minilite name in his attempt to sell replicas but use the Minilite name.

If you can't be bothered to read it the outcome was that it was refused and thats why he still calls his wheels Minilght, Superlight etc.

Yes I read that some time ago. The confusion is that there are Mini wheels with "Minilite" and "England" cast into them that are fundamentally different ... see the images above. The only conclusion that can be drawn is that the 10" version has a plain rim and non-taper fixing holes, whereas the 12" version has a lipped rim and 60 deg taper fixing holes. Maybe that's just a historical thing.

Yes you are probably right, they may be different styles because of the different diameters but the main thing is if you really want 5x12 Minilites then the wheels with Minilite cast into them are the ones to buy.

However if you don't actually like the look of the 5x12 Minilite then you're snookered :ohno: and you'll have to buy a replica that you do like the look off..........you pays your money and takes your choice  :D

This is the Minispares 'Minilite copy' below which looks most like the original 1960's BMC Works Minilite wheels. They used to be sold as 'Minilife' (LIFE) branded before Minispares became more involved with the Tech-Del Minilite.
