I know my mind is all over the place so Ill try to keep this post in a line by line type to get easier answers:
I want to rebuild my dash and change the current 3 clock setup to a center Smiths Speedo and Auxillary components. In the future, as Tachometer and a car clock will be added, but thats for then.

What I want to know is:

Center Speedo:

I am getting a new wiring loom and bulbs for my SMITHS Speedo from either DSN/MiniSpares.

-Do these looms include cabling for the Auxillary Gauges on the sides? Bulb fittings and connections? (Temp and oil Pressure)

-Get a longer or "standard" length Speedo cable? (DSN offers longer versions for the center speedo)

-Do I need any other fittings for the speedo cable or is it a "simple" screw in and go? (I see there are different Pinions, etc https://www.minispar...s.aspx?2~14~125 )

-Anything need to be done to the gearbox side? Mounting/Gaskets/washers/pinion housings/etc. to be swapped, or as above - unscrew the old, insert new?

-Calibrating the speedo to my car/FD/tires?

-Anything else to be aware of except the fact that changing speedo cable is a B***H of a job?

Auxillary-Temperature:

Should be fairly straight forward. The temp sensor fitted to the block is working and should be connected directly.

-Bulbs and socket to be swapped unless on the speedo loom

Axillary-Oil Pressure:

What pieces do I need to have the pressure switch(warning light) and pressure reading?

-Oil gauge t-piece + oil gauge adapter for the pipe (pat numbers: TP and OA). Any washers needed between Block-Tpiece, Tpiece-Sensor, Tpiece-pipe adapter, Pipe adapter-Pipe, Pipe-Gauge?

-Plastic or braided pipe?

-Clean thoroughly and add locktite?

So I hope I didnt miss anything.
If anyone sees something missing/wrong or has tips and tricks to do the install let me know please. Planning on ordering soon and then doing the installation thereafter.

Thanks

first off. DSN postage is way way more expensive than Minispares.

Guessworks has the info re the speedo drives. what you need depends on the TPI of the speedo and the wheel size.

most water temp gauges need power from the voltage regulator.

oil pressure no locktite all threads are either tapered or need a small O washer. hose finish is personal pick one.

I got a packet shipped from DSN to Austria and was the same as Minispares I believe. Maybe for the UK folk its more expensive

I did the TPM speedo check, Just need to find a way to identify what Ive got in the car right now.
Where does it mount to? Im guessing the worm goes into the gearbox - so that would have to wait, and the pinion connects to the cable and is inserted?

The loom is all there for the speedo, oil and temp gauges. just needs connecting to the other wires. I've added extra lights for mine for the oil and rear screen. Have a look at the last post in the three below for the colours and where the connections go.

Ok So I dont need extra bulbs and holders for the oil+temp gauges? Yea been studying that post for a while now... kinda figured it all out from there. Just wondering if a new loom is worth it or just spend a few hours rewiring everything myself :/

hmmm I payed 12 for a package slightly smaller. weird... but it was a Europe - Zone A - 1 shipping cost thingy. I always double check price and shipping costs combined when I order. DSN was cheaper that one time (even with the 7.5%) from minispares :)

Definitely worth buying the loom I would say, the bulb holders are quite expensive so by the time you've bought them, the wire and your time you could have bought the loom.

not weird try adding more parts and the shipping goes up and up the more you add.
