Looks like your starting to build a nice collection of Mini's around you..... Is that the white one that will have the Cooper S conversion done?

I have been prepping inside the cab.
And I welded up the A panel joins
I'm just about to start sealing up inside the cab

I have done some sealing up inside the cab
And started working on the panels.
The bonnet needed a skim of glaze over the front where I de-badged it and a skim up the back to even out a slight depression.
And then onto the doors.
There is some slight damage to both door skins around the bottom hinge. This was caused by me tweaking the doors on the car after skinning them. Becuase I hadn't spot welded the skin to the frame behind at that point, it caused a slight distortion
So I repaired that
And did the same with the other door

Back to the pick-up..
I got the doors and bonnet into primer before flatting them
Then back on with the doors to re-check the gaps and finalise everything including the position of the safety boss so I could drill the holes
And then the roof
Soon be time for paint in the next few days!

I went a bit too far when blocking the primer on the side panels so decided to give them another few coats of primer. I also spot primed a few other areas like the tops of the A panels where i smoothed in the join.
Once that was cured and blocked back, we are back where we were but with a better coverage of primer.
With the doors removed again, I flatted the primer in door shuts
Then there was some sealing up to do
I repeated this the other side too
Then onto the load bed floor
Then the inside of the side panels and arch tubs
Before the first run of sealer
That needs to cure before I can do the brush sealer on the floor returns either end of the arch tub.
I then sealed up the corner post shuts
Ill do the last bit of sealer in the load area in the morning and then back onto the spit.
Just in the process of trying to sort out the new colour choice for this PUP

I think 1 more day on the prep and it will be ready for paint.
The only code I can find for the new colour is a Dulux code which doesn't relate to anything nowadays so I spoke to one of my suppliers and he informs me that Dulux/Dulco were bought out by PPG and they may be able to use the code by adding a 0 to the beginning to relate to a PPG code.
I have left it with him for now but ill speak to him again tomorrow and see how he is getting on.
If he comes up with something, I think ill get enough to paint the bonnet and then we can have a look at that outside in the sun and see if that's what you want before ordering the rest.
Hopefully it will be ok.
Cheers

Cracking on, I have now finished the sealing up around the arch tubs in the load bed area.
And then back on the spit for a through rub down of the primer on the underside
And then I sealed up all of the underside joins
Aside from a coat of raptor, the underside is now ready for paint.
A decision has been made to change the colour from the original green to Katoomba grey but we are having some trouble tracking down a formula. As soon as we sort that out, Ill get it painted!
