Thanks for that. Looking at yours and mine, it looks like that is what they have done. Only difference is they have used some strange bolt instead of a proper sump plug.
Here you go Ste ;)
I think it maybe a bodge but it doesn’t seem to leak. Well it didn’t before I took it out. What does the sump plug repair kit entail. Will it still work since the hole seems a lot bigger than the correct sump plug? The car is still being built so it isn’t driveable but the engine is in. I’ve just had a quick search for your guide but couldn’t see it. I’m sure I use the search facility wrong. I often look for things and can’t find and then someone puts the link up.Looks like its bodged to me to be honest
Iv got a sump plug repair kit your more than welcome to use Steve, Im doing nowt with it. I did a sort of how to when I did mine :)
Can drop it off sometime over the next week for you, or you can pick it up from mine ...

I'll likely find a decent M18 proper sump plug from something else and fit a magnet to it.
loads out there already but they tend to be for gearbox.

Cheers for that - saved me looking !
<Edit: Bummer. The thread I have is M18 x 2.5. All the sump plugs I've looked at (so far) are M18 x 1.5 ! This just keeps getting better,,,,>
i was thinking the pitch might be too fine.

Sorry. Only just seen this. I’ve been out watching the football. If you want I can drop the kit off for you tonight..? I dont mind, be after tea though
I’ve fitted the old one back. I plan to change the oil again within a month so I will see if it leaks before then.
Don’t suppose you have a good brake pipe flaring tool do you? I can’t seem to get the back pipe to stop seeping. The one that joins front to rear subframe.
