Hi, changed the front and rear handbrake cable on my mk3 mini today but once if finished I noticed it was slightly rubbing on the inside of my tyre. All of the cable is in the correct slots it should be and it works well. The tyre is a Yokohama 165/70 10r so isn’t any wider than normal.
Is the handbrake cable usually this close and if not any ideas how to fix it?

Here an another picture showing how close it is
It isn’t to bad but does touch, you can hear it rubbing when spinning the wheel

Try a couple of washers under the cable bracket at the quadrant end, it will mean wheel and drum off, bolt out
or a 3mm wheel spacer
It might just me rubbing, but imagine that at 50-70 MPH for a while

Thanks for the reply, I’ll give the washers behind the bracket a try tomorrow
