Gday everyone... I seem to be  having an issue with the Wipers on my mini

I have a 1972 Leyland mini 1000

The issue I have is that the wipers DONT park

After a bit of Internet browsing I came across information re the wiper Motor and the Park Switch

So as every good Internet Mechanic does I ordered a new switch. Replaced that, alas still doesn't park

The park switch has 3 terminals , however the wiper motor has 2 wires., am I missing  something?

No,

The extra terminal (yellow wire) is for 2 speed motors, just ignore it.

Simplest diagram I could find. As you can see, the wipers are always live when the ignition's on (green wires are fused ignition live). There's a supply to the park switch that loops through the dash switch when the wipers are turned off. Switching the wipers on merely bypasses the park switch with another supply to dash switch. The park switch earths through its spring retainer clip, it's important to stop the motor dead, otherwise it can run on enough to clear the ramp on the drive gear that opens the contacts and set off on another lap.

If your blades just stop where they are when you turn 'em off it's the supply to the park switch or a break on that green/brown - wire or dash switch terminals.

thanks for the reply. will look into the wiring and switch.

Have replaced the switch no change, will look at the dash switch as well as fitting new terminal connector to the Green/Brown wire
