I have a pair sitting on the bench at work that are not only squashed almost flat but the steel rings have corroded off of the rubber

I did use it as it was the first time I'd done it - but probably would have got away without.

From my '76-

Original front, original rear and a new Minispares one.

They were imperial threads too, so most likely never touched since they were fitted in that long hot summer...  :D

Ive got to take mine out at some point, Ill be surprised if theyve been done in 105k miles!

Im contemplating springs for the rebuild and would like to have a ride in a mini running brand new cones v springs at some point.

Springs are for race cars on very flat tarmac, use red spot cones from minispares and the likes

have you not seen all the broken springs and subframes?

metal springs are not suitable for a Mini in any form unless it is on the race track.
