Is this 027 Bosch the best battery that can fit in our Minis?
I'm liking the 5 year guarantee and the 63AH. Money aside, anything better out there?

Duracell DA60T Advanced Car Battery Type 075 - 5 Year Guarantee from Euro car parts paid £100

How is that better? It has the same guarantee and lower CCA. And it's cheaper. Am I missing something?

They are both 60AH and 540 CCA, Duracell is 15mm less in height

The best one is probably the biggest you can safely fit with the best CCA and AH and the longest warranty.
My car has a small cheap 43 battery in it - 260CCA and 35AH. I've never had a problem with it and it's been in the car more than 5 years. As long as you drive the car regularly to keep the battery topped up or on a battery charger you shouldn't have a problem.

May also be worth waiting for a discount on Euro car parts, had a great deal on a Bosch for my Spitfire last year.

Ironically, Eurocar parts have 40% off batteries now. Code is EGG75.

Unless you are worried that you might have to wind the car out of a flood, on the starter, it is the "Cold Cranking Amperage" and if you haven't got electronic ignition, the "Voltage Drop" that are the figures to look for, because the engine should start within six revolutions; anything more than 12, it needs servicing.

The 027 appears to be the largest battery that can fit in the trunk of the Mini. Given my usage of 4-5 days a months, spread across the weekends, I'm looking for the best CCA and the longest guarantee (not warranty).
Eurocarparts appears expensive without the discount code. Anyone recommend anything other than the Bosch 027, given the above?

Anyone tried race batteries? Good weight saving but not sure how viable they are in a road car. Friend of mine had one in a road Mini (more of a sprint car really) and it always worked well but he never used the car at night or in cold weather.
