I have a 1975 Mini which is about to be painted Bracken (as I have happy memories of being driven around in an orange mini as a child)
However the bodyshop have contacted us with a small test patch of the colour BLVC93 as they were doubtful that this was what I had asked for.
I have to say it looks very brown (sort of brick) and not at all like the orange I remember, which was a sort of baked bean colour.
I emailed a link of a picture from an original bracken mini to the bodyshop and they have confirmed that they do not think they have the right paint but did order BLVC93.
The bracken coloured minis on this forum do seem to be the colour I was after.
Do I tell them to go ahead and hope it is the right colour? (Hoping it will look better with primer? - the test patch is just on bare metal. However even the bodyshop doubt it will match the picture we have, or my memory)
Is it possible that my Mum had a different colour? She bought her mini in 1974/75 from a mini dealer as new and it was definitely "orange". I just assumed it must be bracken from the year. From what I can make out that is the only orange colour for a mini of that era???
