Great work to get it to the stage where it is nearly ready for the paint doctor to work his magic.

 

How long is the car with you Ben?

 

I might get the chance to see it when I visit at the end of the month.

Have to admit I got far to exited over LittleGreenMini and The Prep And Refinish Of A Late 80S Mayfair.  

 

The thought that 4 years after taking Mini out of the back of a van, its going back in the van for delivery.

So much happened over last week to get her ready for drop off

Amazing how much time we are prepared to spend removing rust / paint from bonnet catch spring, the metal plugs that go into the floor. 

This is why a Resto takes 4 years!!  

 

She's leaving the building

There's an empty space in my life garage 

 

 

With months of planning, only a short 150 mile trip and a ferry crossing. 

The weather decided to make it difficult 

 

 

 

But with patience I made it, Ben waited to assist with unloading and brief discussion on what's needed. 

 

 

Dropped off in the capable hands of Ben. Looking forward to collecting in 4 > 5 weeks

Just need a log book and she's ready for the road!!

Well it's now with me for the next stage of the project.

 

 

 

 

I have made a good start on the prep but didn't realise I haven't taken photos so I do that tomorrow and update.

So far, the front end is prepped

And starting down one side, I've had a play woth the door gaps to even them out. They were pretty good, just needed a final fettle

 

 

I then levelled out the lower quarter panel and tickled the quarter joins a bit further

 

 

And then gave it a skim

Glad you are working down the good side first!!  
It's great to know the the final phase of body work is now under way with all of my not so tidy work about to be hidden.

Round the back next to dress the panel joins and give them a skim

Ben Just noticed that there are holes in the boot floor that will need some sort of plug, either metal or rubber.  
What would normally go into those holes?  If its those metal ones, do you want to add onto the order?

The quarter panel is coming along.

 

Got it 99% there with a skim of filler

 

 

And will finish off with a skim of finishing stopper just to get the pin holes and the odd high spot that i first tapped down
