So here we go, 

 

Bought the car in 2016, had been left in a barn with a leaking roof for years apparently, in very poor condition, but fairly complete. Luckily over the years it hadn't been modified, there weren't many patches on the metal left! The upper half is solid which convinced me to take on the project. 

 

Here is the picture from the day it was picked up and brought home

 

 

A few months later the strip down started

So fast forwards to today, The final parts of the floor have been cut out ready for the full floor from m-machine to be mocked up.

 

The Blasting and priming has been finished, roof hand sanded and kurusted then primed. Starting to look better. Not bothered blasting anything that is going.

Start of the floor going in, loads to do but getting there. Only roughly in at the moment, needs to come back out again and everything primed where needed.

I have put minimal bracing in as advised by others who have done the job.

 

 

Also repaired some panels that i want going back on, before:

Excellent! Your moving it along, love the smooth roof models.
You keeping it 850 and magic wand? My 62 is pretty much standard apart from the brakes (Cooper S 7.5 up front)

I Love this build already I would love a smooth roof woody, nice progress already with that nice new floor.

2ND coat of etch primer on the floor, still got to do the other side yet! Better to do it now while i can access all the tough bits, as i had to do the insides of the sill cavity before going in anyway

that doesn't look too bad to me, you got a great worthwhile project on your hands i'd say.

Lovely work, must have been a nice feeling seeing that new floor going in!

Can you talk me through how you repaired that panel that looked all chewed up from drilling out spot welds?

The repair was done with new steel and some of the holes have been welded up, if you put a peice of copper bar behind the hole as you weld, it makes you less likely to blow through the thin metal. 

 

Times consuming though when a new repair panel is about £25 per side
