Fair point on the staining, however I would intend on having it hi gloss still, so I would use something water resistant with UV blockers... but this might be a project for later. I would go do a local, however we are stationed in Japan at the moment and I do not speak Japanese yet... maybe soon!

I was mainly curious if it had been done before and how people went about it. If it hasn't been done, I was curious why people decided against it... my roof doesn't leak (even with my sunroof), but I do get a leak around the rear quarter window gasket if hit with pressure, and everything steams up a bit when it is cold and rainy. This might just be a task that has to wait until I can either afford a prebuilt one, or a time when I have someone around to help lol.

Mikal would it be possible for you to show how the dash is held in place? I am trying to do something similar to yours but struggling with the mounting.
