Hi all.
Ive just got my car back from the paint shop and am eager to get on with the rebuild.
Problem is, Im not sure where to start or what order to do things.
Is there any recommended ways of rebuilding.
The car is currently on a dolly with no subframes on although I have rebuilt these ready to put on. I do know I will need to put brake and fuel lines on before these go on.
All advice appreciated

nothing internal untill it is on its wheels.

so pipes brake and fuel under the car. then subframes then finish pipework bleed and on it wheels,

As above. Don't forget to fit the steering rack before the front subframe.

Once on it's wheels, I like to fit the wiring loom, steering column and pedalbox as well as the master cylinders and then the headlining and glass.

Everything else after that can be fitted in any order however fit the rear lamps before the fuel tank.

Fit the rear shox and rear wiring loom before the fuel tank(s) as the shox top nuts and some electrical connexions are under them, I'd put doors at the end especially if you're in a single garage

Have plenty of cardboard to hand to protect surrounding bodywork when fitting parts - especially the wiper tubes/motor and fuel tank(s),all of which are awkward to feed into position - nothing worse than scratching your pristine new paintwork!

I have body stands (easy to make and simple) that have the body at around 'bench height'. I do everything inside while on the stands, wiring, plumbing etc, then basically the last two major items to fit are the Subframes and the Engine. Fitting out the interior this way is much easier to get at everything.

Working from a bare (painted) shell, I usually build them in this sequence;-

Pedal Box

Master Cylinders

Wiring Loom

Demister Ducts

Dash (inc heater and switches)

Interior Trim

Doors (and Trim)

Hood Lining

Windows - at this point, the car interior is more or less 'sealed'.

Battery Cable

Under Body Pipe Work

Steering Rack

Rear Subframe

Front Subframe

Front Hubs

Brake Pipes (all)

Bleed Brakes - check for leaks

Fit Fuel Tank

Fit Engine
