Looks amazing. Just a shame it has to be covered up by the interior.

Today I back masked the shell ready to paint the engine bay and boot.

And then sealed up in the boot and engine bay. I only have photos of the boot though

And then on with the yellow

Once that has had a day to fully harden, I shall re-mask the car ready to paint the outside.

Cheers

Did you apply the seam sealer and then stipple it with a brush for the oem like finish ? Looks really good.

Are you talking about the sealer on the underside?

If so, it's a PU sealer applied with a special pneumatic applicator

I had a different nozzle on in that photo but with the correct one, it comes out like that and you can adjust the material flow and pressure to give different spray patterns and material depths.

I only got it recently so am still getting used to it

Cheers

Merv

I'm not sure if you can buy them openly. I had to get mine through our Wurth rep.

It's on their website but no options to buy it online. Mine was shipped in from Germany

It's looking very neat in the engine bay. One small question, I have noticed in some of the UK Clubman builds I've seen that there is that shroud on the inner wing for channelling air through the radiator. Is that a standard fitment on UK cars? I've never seen it on a local Clubman shell.

I believe they are. I can't recall seeing one without.

I left the Mini alone this morning so that the paint could fully harden before I mask it all up again.

Once it was hard enough, I started masking

I ran out of masking paper though so ill finish up in the morning.

Once done, there will be the roof to prime, some sealing up and prep to do and then on with the yellow.

Cheers

Ben

That last picture just answered my life long question if how you mask it up without being inside! 😂
