This is a good example of how simple things can ruin the SPi system. I know it's true in 2005 when, like many others, I buy a car with a hidden problem
I hope everything goes well with the test and that I'm waiting to hear the results.

Hello
Good new, the technical control for pollution was OK, The CO was about 0.3
Bad news :
The technical control was not accepted cause of oil drops. The new rules don't accep this, and the techicien told me that with an english car it would be impossible ....
And now, I have a problem when I accelerate : there is a big hole and the motor loses all power and frequently stalls
I have reseted the ECU with readmems (readmems.exe com3 interactive and OxFA), but this is the same
I have made a little log file attached

Hi,
I didn't go to technical control, no time
But I have a big big question and doubt : I have no manifold gasket like this http://www.minispare...UG704053MG.aspx
I only have this type of metalic gasket (entretoise in french, cannot traduce) inside the head and inside the manifold, on each vacuum
??? Do you think this is normal ???

Ah, YES YES
Rings are OK they are in place, but there is no gasket. I think that can be a cause of my wrong CO
This is odd, cause I don't feel any leak, and no specific noise
I will buy it before going back to Technical Control,
Thanks

wow, no gasket?!.......... not only vacuum leak, also exhaust leak !
maybe some liquid seal has been used?.............
Smoke test would find problem.
When gasket fitted, reset idle stop, then adjust throttle cable, as before.

Well, I have dismounted maniflow 3 or 4 time, and I never saw this manifold gasket
Perhaps it is glued, or a liquid seal, but I didn't noticed anything
When I saw the manifold located rings, I though that was the only seals, and I didn't think anymore, it was OK for me
Yesterday, I was looking a Haynes book (or other) and I saw this !!
I will go to buy this on monday and fit it

OK, the gasket was in place. I thougth it was moving when dismonting manifold, but no. The exhaust manifold was not dismounted, then the gasket couldn't move
And I'm gone to the tezchnical control, and it was bad.
The same than before, bad CO value at 0.50
Bad for me, I don't know what to do now, and not sure a mechanic man would do better

So much for the new thermostat.

Yes, I think to inspect and change the cat
The inspection was done after 5 km, perhaps not enough, but it was done quickly, cause I didn't pay and go ahead everyone
But it was the same than before : start at 1, and after 5 minutes at 3000 rpm, going down to 0.5 and it did not go above, staying at 0.5
And the lambda was good for the technicien (at 1 if I remember)
All was good except CO

Hi,
I've checked the compression today, the 4 cylinders are between 10 and 10.5 bar (150 PSI) ,with a chinese testor, I think this is OK
To come back to the rich condition, what do you think of my spark plugs ? This is one, but they are all the same, and I've cleaned them 200 km ago
