Well, I’ve made a little bit of progress recently. I’ve bought a 10’’ electric fan, curved the rad and adjusted the end tanks. (Mock up radiator). I also bought a alternator adjuster which I’m still waiting on.

Just how much smaller is the alternator Anthony?

Just got my Powerlite alternator off mini spares today. 55a should be plenty for what I’m doing. I’m trying to contact Alex @ The Car Kitchen to discuss building me a custom radiator. Hopefully things will go smoothly after all the head scratching recently.

Just how much smaller is the alternator Anthony?

 

It's a lot smaller than the original alternator. It's the same size as a 89 ish suzuki swift alternator. 'Hi Anthony, The GXE1002 alternator at its widest point is 124mm'.  What I got told a few months ago from Mini spares. I could get one even smaller, but they're silly low amps, that just isn't enough for a road car.

Not much progress tonight. Just marking out rad fan brackets really and taking notes. Any progress is better than no progress.

Well, I’ve altered it again and decided to go for a straight twin pass radiator, with a spal 10’’ fan. I waited a couple of months for the core to arrive at concept racing. They’ve done a fantastic job of it. I’ll be going back to them for my custom intercooler and maybe a few other bits.
