I think it's finally time to unveil the MCM subframe. I've been long time member on here and to make a long story short I have built lots of different engine converted minis with Minitec, Allspeed, and Watson subframes and over the last 1.5 years have developed my own subframe kit that encompasses all the positives out of the other subframes. I have built a few for customers, and I will be building 6 more subframes this Spring. Unfortunately this is mainly targeted at the USA market as I have not found a reasonable priced way to get it overseas yet. 

 

The frame is all new and specifically designed for the Honda D15/D16 Sohc, laser cut towers, chromoly tubing, fits standard round nose, RHD or LHD, retains stock suspensions/arms/front tiebar. It comes powder coated in satin black, or can do special colors by request. I have fit 10" wheels on it without flares, you do loose a little turning radius, but there is virtually no torque steer. The frame weighs in at 41.5lbs. 

 

We can also provide a custom stainless 4-1 exhaust manifold, clutch adapter to retain your stock mini pedals, and standalone obd1 harness. We would like to provide modified edelbrock performer intake manifolds in the future.

Nice work McGee! I've been following a few of your builds. Very nice work.

I'm going to have to keep this in mind when I get back to the states.

Are modifications to the firewall required? I believe some of the other subframes require modifying the firewall to fit the steering rack on RHD Minis.

 

I used to live not to far from you in Catonsville, MD. Had I known you existed at the time I would've popped in.

I have been out here since 2011, moved from VA. And yes, not to far from Catonsville. The subframe does not require the floor of the steering rack to be altered on RHD minis like Minitec kits. We positioned the motor further forward to gain clearance, however this means we build a custom header that is tighter to the block. We also do a custom Intake manifold now that fits without bulkhead mods for both RHD and LHD with our brake and clutch master setup.

Awesome!  How do you attach the radiator?  Is there a specific one that you use?  Where do you source your engines from?  Nice work!
