the thing is it is perfectly OK to re-shell with a with a brand new shell at any time. but to me there seems to be too much new stuff there. but again we did ugrade stuff in the 80s.
it could all be 100% ok (but not original) with no providence who knows.

I can't believe he genuinely paid £11k for an incomplete reshell. Was it a way of being included in an hour long advert?

Fwiw I did like it, I just wouldn't pay the £7k premium for the vin plate plus whatever huddersfield wanted on top.

Hi all
I caught this programme last night as I watch all the various car programs of this type and was amazed at how nobody pointed out the validity of it being a Cooper S variant. In fact it wasn't even up to standard Cooper speck.
The engine looked to me as though it was a Goldseal factory recon job, single carb. although the shell could have been an S as it did appear to have twin tanks (so long as the second one wasn't a stuck on dummy one) and we did not see any of the suspension or brakes.
As previously stated by other members it was never referred to as a Cooper S in the voice over or by any of the other participants of the show other than the 2 presenters.but I would have thought for legal reasons Quest would have made it clear to the viewers that it was in fact not a Cooper S.
I had hoped that this programme would have gone some way fill the gap that WD left since it's new format but alas it's at the bottom of my list now.
Just as a side bar to my comments a bit of background info. Before moving on to classic fast Fords, I now own a 3dr Cosworth 330BHP etc, I had in the past a tweaked 850cc Mini followed by a 1071cc Cooper S and I have had the pleasure of driving Pat Moss's works Cooper S.
I'am looking forward to reading all the comments on the programme from the rest of you guys
Happy mining

Not convinced with that one. Panel gaps were to within the nearest square yard and has been noted already, just wasnt finished. A case of making the shoe fit the foot for tv methinks. Anyone know what happened to the porsche?

The Porsche is on eBay

I have been watching Salvage hunters for a while (seen all episodes), I think Drew is great at what he does, but this car thing seems a bit of a stretch.
I wonder if it impacts his reputation?

What is curious is dp classic is obviously Drew Pritchard and he's based in North Wales and the workshop is based in Nottingham, why is it being sold in Hampshire? Who's the third party?

The shell was Mk4 and the last factory built Cooper S used Mk3 shells......

Spotted from a comment on Facebook, the mot history doesn't show the restoration to be up to much.... Reg. T.H.T 553G

*edit* seams the forum changes T.H.T without the dots to 'that'.
