The roof damage is hectic. Can that be repaired? Surely it'd be easier to just replace it with new steel since that panel has huge holes in it too.

It can be repaired but it's a difficult and time consuming repair to get right so prepare for high cost

Have back in the day fitted a few Mini roof skins ! including a van one
having said that the van also needed a side panel at the same time, it
is a lot of work cleaning the old rover weld in the gutter, allthough not
sure whether the Inocenti was roller welded, have also made a fibreglass
roof for a Autocross Mini.Maybe as suggested elsewhere a full length
webasto would not look out of place on this, I like the car by the way
and personally think it needs a nice restoration job IMO.
Unfortunately back then it was just another repair job never took photos.
Best of luck

What a cool build! I would just replace the roof with a new skin, i am sure you could keep the patina look with that, but quickest nicest way would be get a roof for it.

Cheers, it came into its own after about 20 minutes of running, it seems like a good healthy engine, i was having a look underneath and the exhaust box looks very similar to a maniflow although i'd be inclined to think its probably original, it just has so many quirky little differences compared to our Irish cars
