Does anyone have the same poor fitting panels as me? Everything heritage, Rear apron fine on one side, 4-5mm out the other, same with l/h wing, r/h fine.

So I cut a v out and added some metal.

Yep! that's how they were built 40/50 years ago, to be in tolerance meant could it be hammered, pushed, pulled into place and it was fine. There was some old Pathe film's of the mini's being built on the Longbridge production line, the complete side's were clamped at the front of the sill and at the rear then spot welded up. Your repairs are looking good so far.

Thank you, I have used no filler at all yet should only need a little on weld joints, I'm trying to get as original as possible, Do you know if the floor sound deadening /bitumen material is available or an alternative?

Sorry, posts are a little haphazard! trying to work out attaching photo's, I have got most welding completed now, rear valance to do then attach battery cable channel to floor, It needed to be moved to allow heat shield studs in correct position for spi. also attach studs for fuel pipe brackets, Going to gravitex floor then paint body colour (black)  

I'll get more photo's soon.

Gravitex on floor before paint and perhaps a little premature but just collected re-upholstered seats.
