I don't think I would like to fit a 145 width tyre onto a 6" wide rim.

I have a set of 6x13 with 165s (bought like that) and even they are too narrow for my liking ... but with 12s the choice is pretty limited ...

A 145 was originally used on the Mini with a 3.5" wide wheel. 4.5" is OK and 5" might be possible with a bit of a stretch.

Makes no difference what the wheel diameter is/was. It is the tyre width compared to the wheel width which we are talking about here.

A 145 section width is great on a light car like the Mini, but should not be fitted to a wheel wider than 4.5".

In fact, I have driven a 1275 MPI Cooper on 4.5" x 12 " standard wheels and 145/70 x 12 Falken tyres. It did not have the ultimate road-holding of a Yokohama, but the handling, especially in the wet, was superb and just like the early Mini Cooper 'S'.

Used to stretch to 5J for Cosmics but no more.
