13" moto-lita for me, steering weight not too bad with quick rack, quaife lsd and 165/70/10's.
Have to agree with the polished spokes and sunlight from behind issue though regarding temporary blindness.

I've got a 10" in one and 13" in the other, I prefer the 10" and looks awesome too

It is unlikely that in the event of hitting a big bump or a deep rut it would be easy to keep steering control with a 10" steering wheel. On bumpy roads even a 13" can be hard work.

+1. I agree with Cooperman.
A long time ago now but when I was rallying a Cooper S I used a 15 inch steering wheel. And the roads used on Motoring News events in the 70's sure we're bumpy!

My son fitted a 13" to a 970 'S' he built.
I did one rally in it as the driver and I put my 14" Mountney wheel on which I found much better.
A 10" looks a bit silly as well.

Well the 10" is my personal preference, I don't intend to go rallying with it any time soon :P being that small isn't an issue for me with daily driving/bumpy/bad roads, plus that's with fairly wide wheels too! I do get a bit of a workout parking, but bloody great fun on the twisties with it!

Great big one (15?) from an Austin 1300GT for me. Cheap power steering!

I use a 3 spoke 1275GT wheel as feel it handles better than the smaller one I first had

I still have the original bus wheel on my mk3 and its great requiring less steering input and correction that a small wheel.

The steering feels hardly any different from my people carrier and the mrs finds it fine on the rare occasion I let her take it to the shops.

There is a young lady locally with a late Cooper that has one fitted to make its easier to park etc.

Each to their own but I did all that small wheel stuff 30 odd years ago and realised it was a bad idea then but style over function won back then.

I remember my first Mini (a '77 1000) had a 13" wheel (a Mountney i think) with a 70s "Mini" steering wheel badge fitted in the middle. Although it wasn't in great condition, the feel through that wheel was great. I once parked a friend's car with a 12" wheel and found it horrible. My GT had a 13" wheel (unsure of make), my 25 had a Standard (350mm?) wheel and my Mayfair originally came with the nasty 4-spoke brown (14"?) wheel that many 80s Mayfairs came from the factory with. That was soon jettisoned in favour of a new 13" leather Mountney. I see a pattern emerging here...

That said, my brother's old 1964 Traveller had the old 15" bus wheel and was great to drive and even better to park. I certainly would never go smaller than 13". Don't see the point other than for "looks" purposes.

But for 'looks' a 10" steering wheel looks silly to the majority of people.
No accounting for the perceptions of others of course.

I find a 13" to be about right, makes the car a lot more controllable with more power, I used to have a 10" mountney, but with 10x7's, only 140bhp and a fair amount of torque steer, it was almost dangerous!
