What size steering wheel does everyone use? Mine is a standard 1991 cooper 350mm, I'm looking to change for something a bit more special but do I go smaller at the same time?

A 14" or 13" steering wheel is very good on the classic Mini. Smaller than 13" can be dangerous in certain circumstances.
The Mountney is a good quality product.

I found any smaller than a 13 inch with a quick rack is very hard work. I currently have a 13 inch Springalex with a Mountney boss.

I've got a 15" wood wheel that I use most of the time, having the bigger wheel makes it easier to turn and smooths out smaller bumps when driving on the highway long distances. It's also easier to drive with your arm on the window

I've also got a dished 13" wheel that I can swap to, it's a bit more fun for the twisty bits, it has a bit of the more "Go-Kart" feel. Its harder to turn the car at low/parking speeds, I can find it a bit jiggly on the highway sometimes as it doesn't have the same leverage

the trouble with going with a smaller steering wheel makes it harder to turn from stand still ,especially if you have wider wheels

For rallying I would never go smaller than a 14".

I hate the black plastic boss centre cover that mountney use. An alloy one looks so much nicer!

So do I, I had to wait for one to come back into stock; since the photo I've now changed mine.

Yeah I've got one knocking around somewhere, haven't got around to replacing it yet though. Still need to sort the button horn push out too.

I have found it does create a problem. When you're driving away from the sun at certain angles it reflects off the polished centre and temporarily blinds you. It's good for aesthetics, not so good for road safety.

I might see about painting it black, I’d have to do a bit of research on the best way to do that though.
