day 7 of isolation another fine but windy day so test fitted new battery box and after a lot of feteling i got it to seat nicely

era%200067.jpg

then I gage it a goos wire brushing (electric) and then a good sanding

era%200068.jpg

and the small holes that need attention

era%200069.jpg

Day 8 od isolation and now Jersey is in lockdown day 1 I put a call out for a loan of a welder and low and behold 1 was dropped at my door this morning a big thanks to Keith lol i attempet to weld the front scuttle

era%200064.jpg
era%200065.jpg

not a bad effort as its been 12 years since I last used a welder

era%200066.jpg

tomorrow I will fill the spot weld holes in windscreen edge

Hi..peeps day 10 of isolation had a rest day yesterday due to welders Eye lol, I spent the day getting front panel to sit correctly,

era%200070.jpg

then I offered up the bonnet but I stupidly put the hinges back in the wrong holes so off came everything and relocated the hinges in the correct place then refitted bonnet this needed several more attempts to adjust the new scuttle to back of bonnet to alignment correctly,

era%200071.jpg

then offered up the front panel and got this to sit nicely to wings very pleased so all needs welding up next

Hi..peeps final day of isolation and day 5 of lockdown today I've been fiddleing with the front panel and started with test fitting and adjusting New Stainless steel fog lamp brackets and drilling ready for riveting after paint

era%200084.jpg
era%200085.jpg
era%200086.jpg

then I moved onto test fitting original body kit but front panel needed surgert to allow vent to pass

era%200087.jpg
era%200088.jpg

a bit more cutting

era%200089.jpg
and it slides onto front panel
era%200090.jpg

era%200091.jpg

copied for the orher side and test fit the front kit

era%200092.jpg
era%200093.jpg

front kit needs a lot of work due to all the kerbs its hit in the past but I have a friend who a Fiberglass guru

era%200094.jpg

I did purchase a new front kit from a UK firm but its a good copy so will not use it

I never though it would actually have functional vents! Where does the air go?

era%200101.jpg

then applied some seam seal to wing reinforcements and wing seams and front panel

era%200102.jpg

era%200103.jpg

era%200104.jpg

Hi..Peeps todays efforts I removes drivers door

era%200139.jpg

did not look too bad but once I removed the door skin lol

era%200140.jpg

era%200141.jpg

era%200142.jpg

so have ordered repair sections next I tackled the hard to get to welds and this was a tedious job and after several Dramen bits I'm happy

era%200119.jpg

era%200120.jpg

era%200121.jpg

cleaned out wing gutter with electric wire brush and etch primed

era%200122.jpg

era%200123.jpg

then I gave the bonnet face a nother prime and then a coat of Black for protection

era%200124.jpg

era%200132.jpg

next applied filler to scuttle welds and rub down and primed

era%200126.jpg

era%200127.jpg

era%200128.jpg

era%200129.jpg

then applied seam seal to wing channel

era%200130.jpg

era%200131.jpg

then I scotehed the etch primer and applied a grey primer

era%200133.jpg

era%200134.jpg

era%200135.jpg

era%200136.jpg

then I attempted to see if the original bodykit would fit but this need cutting and twisting and re glassing after several accidents in the past and due to the lockdown I can not get glass and resin so this will have to wait....lol

Great work so far, good luck for the rest of Lockdown

Keep it up
