yes but not with the ERA having electrical issues but engine runs so thats good lol

That is a shame, I did look out for your car and didn't see it. At least you went on the run. maybe next year!

good evening peeps so I have finally yes finally finished My ERA turbo after a 6 year rebuild

just wheel caps to fit and its ready for test drive

a quick vid for those interested still a few nigly prob to sort out higher the rear sjustarides and stiffen up rear shocks but good to go to its first event on Saturday 3rd june here in Jersey many thanks to all who have left encouraging words

Goog eveng peeps so I'd thought I had finished lol but took it for a test drive 3 days before a local show over here in Jersey and driving it along the lane where i Live and blurrrgh stalls restart it and 200mts same again so it did this all the way home so I found out that the oil pressure switch is different to that of the std mini  it uses an MG maestro turbo switch so I found 1 on Ebay and ordered it but said 1 week to deliver lol the following day  so I got in contact with a chap that owns the only other ERA here and asked If I could pinch his to try so the following day at 2pm I collected him and we went to his lockup and I took it off his ERA 

and at 3pm I got home and low and behold a small parcel had arrived and it was the new Switch

so I fitted new switch and problem solved the night before Jersey's big show weekend

just 1 problem to solve but this can wait till winter Heater matris failed

Good day Peeps a little Update on the running of My ERA, so after only 50 road miles back in june I had a head gasket failure, so I compression tested bores and the result was

so the stripdown started







the culpret lol



check head for problems


found slipped valve stem oil seal


sent head to a workshop to get cleaned and new seals and reseat valves done


refit head and gubbings
new MED 3shim steel gasket fitted



then iit was off to France for a french mini weekend with Mini De La Baie in Normandy

enjoying the frence roads




then a minor issue rubber oil pipe failed and dumped oil everywhere

My friend Sebastian came with his trailer

and we loaded it on

and sorted the problem with the help of Sebastian and back on the road


My friend Snoopy enjoying the luxurary and comfort of ERA

stopping for refreshments

then time to get ferry back to Jersey

and ERA is running fine and no more issues

Hi all

I unfortunately has some very sad news Mark le gallais aka "mk1leg" sadly passed away on the 10th November 2024.

As many of you know Mark was an absolute mini nut through and through and I'm sure that he will be sorely missed by us all here on the mini forum.

That's awful news.

 

I'm working through catching up on threads and was delighted to see this car finished

I didn't expect to read this though.

 

My thoughts are with his family and friends and I hope that he didn't suffer at all
