itb motor and trans on a moving cart, pulled the motor to clean up the firewall a bit and cut a firewall box for stock d16 automatic set up, I made the box extra large

i started to strip the paint off the shell because i want to repaint it
the old paint has been on the car since Sept 2013
i figure with changing the drivetrain out to automatic, i should repaint it as well
I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it the same almond white color or paint it o.d. green
but I have a ton of time to figure it out
I can only work on this car when my hips don't hurt to much, which is all the time

I changed the left side mount to the eg style over the 3 bolt style it had,
my poly billet mounts are for eg style
I installed a gates timing belt kit
and a oem Honda water pump into the motor when it was out

I had to start over with my subframe because the automatic gearbox is so much bigger then the manual
I had to move the engine out 2 inches so that the gearbox would clear the steering rack and the upper control arm mount on the suspension tower
and I didn't want to build custom upper control arms
i'll be fine because I have a clubby front clip
I ended up using 1.25 seamless tube to build my subframe
I still need to brace it up

bent some 1.25 inch dom tube for the left side of the subframe
I just need to make the center crossover tube
but I ran out of tube today so I need to go and buy somemore tomorrow
metal place is closed on sundays
and I plan to use 3 inch triangles 3/16 thick to brace up everything on the subframe
I should have the subframe done this week and pull the engine from it and pull the subframe from the car
to do finally welding and paint it black
I still need to make the tie rod mounts but that wont take to much time
but I need to get the car on its wheels before I can make those

Thanks for posting this, you're the first one I've seen put a Honda D series in a Mini with an Auto trans. I was wondering whether it could be made to fit as I drive an auto also 2009 Clubman S - due to age and bad knees in my case. My current classic is a stick, but I'm planning a project with an Ecoboost 3 cyl, with an auto trans.
I was at the MMW in Sandy Eggo too, wonder if we talked there?

hi, can you please give me the callipers/disc and drive flange part numbers??? are those callipers direct firment???
