thankyou! it was a big step with the car !
cleaned the garage out today and turned the car around
wrong type of 10" wheels i think!
i wanted to double check how the other door was fitting, and fortunately it was ok, so i will order just a drivers skin now. The gaps where a little off but i had a little play
dosnt looks o good here in the pic as the quarter needs some work still
had a play with the front of the door too
the car will goto work to get painted, so hopefully terry who will do it will come and look at the car first hand and then we can organise what i need to do and he can do for me.

so not had much chance to work on the mini recently, i bought a bmw e61 as my e39 is getting a bit tired. It was a damaged repairable car, so ive had to repair that, and done lots of other jobs to it so its reliable for me. So while i cant do any more to it, and im on this hold thing with work on 80% pay, ill be doing the mini to stop me getting bored.
I had made the subframe reinforcing panels myself but had missed a tab off of them, so did that today.
hoovered out the whole car
put it back on its little wheels, and tomorrow ill turn it over again and do the valance.
noticed the wing gaps, not sure if they are meant to be so big?
so hopefully, ill be on with this with lots of updates. Im trying my best to be quiet though, it is very quiet around here now, dont want to upset anyone...

turned it over again today, want to get all the welding underside done now in one go, then sealed and stonechipped.
I tried the rear valence on
did some welding near the rear subframe mount board
I decided to put some stitches in there that you wont see when its done and covered in sealer.
and then ive got these little panels to weld in, done one
hoping itll be all done very soon on the bottom.

so today welded the other side up
put a million tec screws into the rear valance and welded it on
i didnt realise at the time but pulling the valance in with the tec screws distorted it so i put some filler on it
I put some stitches on the boot floor to subframe panel and finished off some welding too
hopefully more work tomorrow!

Nice progress!!
If I may say, maybe you are missing some welds at the rear of the floor (or maybe they stopped doing them in the plant):
I assume they were original on my car as it didn't have major accident and only at the front. These welds are on both sides
Cheers

do you mean on the return on the end of the floor? I put one heal board in it, and did it wrong, then i put another in, i cut the return off as it was not so good, and ive spotted the floor to the return on teh heal board and put stitches on places too. is that where you mean?
thanks

Yes sorry, maybe my message was a little too short. Let me do it again with my and your picture to compare:
Yelllow circle welds the rear seat bease, wing closing panel and companion bin all together.
Green line is welding the closing panel and the rear of the floor heel board.
Red lines shows a weld line between the floor vertical part and the closing panel on the rear quarter inner side.
The floor panel is spotwelded on one line at the inside of the car about in the middle of the seat base and extends on the closing panels
Should look like this (the small lip fixed with the clamp is a remain of the passenger floor):
This is a further view of previous picture without the floor (there's its remains visible, the small corner laying near the wheel well)
Hope it is clear now ;)

dosnt feel like ive done that much today, but i was in the garage for a few hours..
got the rear end and other parts in sealer
Not the neatest, but id rather it be over sealed than have any chance of letting water in.
did some welding on teh wings too, at the front and down the front panel too
and some sealer
welding wise its the other side of the front to weld on, a door skin and its looking like its ready for bodywork!

finished the welding on the wing today, and then scotches the floors etc , and stone chipped ti all
thought id try the wheel arches on, should have done that ages before now really
quarter has distorted a bit after welding or where ive pulled it together to the arch, by heating the panel and cooling it quickly has taken some of the issue out, but will have to put some filler in it..
will have another look at it tomorrow and make my mind up if there is more i can do.
