I'm linking everything through Dropbox now, very straightforward and as I pay a subscription reasonably happy.

The absolute best we can hope for with Photobucket is that they change tact again and realise that individuals are not going to pay $400 a year to them and they stand to lose more users than they gain paying customers. Unfortunately, I think this is quite unlikely to happen.
There are a bunch of ways they could have increased their revenue which would have been reasonable and more practical for everyone. They've chosen to do it the most damaging and prohibitive way possible.
A local newspaper interviewed the CEO quite recently, there didn't seem much chance of a reversal of their decision, a small number had paid up (naturally) and that was enough for them.
The entire company seems like your standard merry-go-round of idiots you get in the tech sector, they get a new CEO every 5 minutes, manage to con some investors into pouring money into the company and then immediately piss it right up the wall.
Just recently they bought out two weird social-media advertising companies for several million, both now have shut down.

Many thanks to DEATHROW for fixing this.
Looks like I will now have to do the following:
1. Download all of my images from Photobucket!!!
2. Find another image hosting solution - imagur, fliker, dropbox, google drive or something - what are we recommending?
Is there a way to download a project build as a .pdf?
Once again thanks to DEATHROW we owe you

Don't worry about old images.
Upload any new images using imgur or similar for now.

I know this topic has been more or less done to death over the past few weeks. When it 'hit' I have to say I was quite Browned Off.
Firstly, many thanks to Deathrow for working his magic to keep our existing images alive.
And next in line is all you guys and gals who suggested Imgur, which I'm now swapping over to (will take some time though).
Cheers

Imgur seems to be the best, much easier than photobucket was for uploading

You can download a programme that uses Imgurs api to batch upload photos.
Seems to get favourable reviews but not something i tried myself.
