Superb Deathrow!

Does this imean we can continue to use photobucket?

Even though Adam is wielding a mighty magic wand you will be better off looking at loading any new pictures by using another platform, so Imgur, Flickr etc.

He may be able to do a lot but lets not push the limits, i think this will be a wise move.

Personally from now on i will be using Imgur for anything new.

Folks what you have to remember here is that Deathrows work is not instant and believe me on TMF there are 10's of thousands of pictures to sort out so it will take time.

So in the event your particular pictures are not showing, be patient.

sonikk please pass on our thanks. but i think SB above has raised a very valid question should we continue with PB or find other hosts/solutions for future images?

Someone buy that man a pint!

I'll be saving each page of mine to pdf for if photobucket get wise to it, and switching to a different host for sure!

We're going to roll our own hosting solution in the future. However as you can imagine that's no small feat, especially as I want it to integrate seamlessly with the forum so that you can upload images as you write your post instead of having to upload them and then link them like you would with an external host.

To answer that question that has been looming though, please do not host any additional images with Photobucket. If for no other reason than that no one on earth should have to endure the user experience that website provides.

For example:

Loading the TMF homepage: 70 requests, 527 KB transferred, 2.50 seconds to load.

Loading a gallery page on Photobucket: 994 requests, 6.0 MB transferred, 28.18 seconds to load.

If they're worried about bandwidth they should focus on reducing the size of their own web pages because that is one heavy page.

I know a lot of us have pictures on Photobucket but after they've already tried once to rip us off, why would you want to? They'll only find out another way of holding us to ransom. Deathrow is working on a long term solution

Yep, they will probably delete all non-paying accounts in the next few years so for goodness sake do not put anything more on Photobucket.

The absolute best we can hope for with Photobucket is that they change tact again and realise that individuals are not going to pay $400 a year to them and they stand to lose more users than they gain paying customers. Unfortunately, I think this is quite unlikely to happen.

There are a bunch of ways they could have increased their revenue which would have been reasonable and more practical for everyone. They've chosen to do it the most damaging and prohibitive way possible.

I will reiterate what I said previously and please everyone read Deathrows comments. DO use another website until Adam has sorted things out.

As I alluded to in my earlier post DO NOT continue using PB.

Also please bare in mind Adam is doing this in his own time so please be patient if your pictures are not showing currently.
