I took my intake manifold off the car for the first time in a LONG time and decided to clean and check everything. I removed the TPC from the bottom of the manifold and there sounds like there are bits inside of it rattling around. Doesn't sound like a single thing but multiple. Is that normal?

Nope, you'll find the heating element inside is smashed up and therefore not doing much! Mine was exactly the same.
Whilst it should ideally work, I took mine apart cleaned out the smashed bits and assembled it as an empty casing just so it can fill the gap. I never noticed any particularly rough running in winter or summer, and I still havent now. I just couldn't justify the price of one, especially as they seem to be a common piece to become faulty.

Interesting. I typically drive this car in nicer weather so maybe I'll leave it for now being the price is $126 for me to get it on this end!!
