I only need it to go up a hill - but should be good for a few laps on a track day even so.

Im not building a Z car, but im using R1minimagic's front suspension from his before he changed the front subframe (so its the same as what your using)
I guess if it fit on without having to bend anything then its alright,
But im sure the fitted them the other way on the DVD.
With the gap at the front so you can put more bolts through if you want to strengthen it.
On a similar note, you wouldnt know the spring rates for the front?
Its not low enough and the springs are fully undone, so i think i need shorter springs if i am to lower any more

I striped mine before i fitted my front suspension and they are 80lb springs, By the way if you go any lower with the mini front suspension you will get chronic bumpsteer as the suspension arms shouldnt run past being level.
A soon as they do you will remove any camber you have set as the more the car dives under braking etc the camber angle will reduce instead of increasing to help you go round a corner, hence the reason for chris making the new subframe with a lower centre pivot points.

You can have the top arm at a reasonable angle as long as it isn't ultra low and at 45degrees!
