Looking for some advice, the mini I have has a 1275-a plus engine and I'm looking to replace a few parts and get the old girl running in time but I don't think the engine belongs to the original car. The radiator from the engine had a push in twist lock heat sensor on the bottom front. The car v5c says the cars 1989 but this engine is possibly newer as it has no engine number label other than what's stamped on the block WFM1024 on the back which means it should be a 1275a plus engine apparently. The question I have is if I replace the rad does it have to be a like for like or can I get an alloy one? The alloy ones do not have the slide in sensors like this but only have the screw in type sensor, would that work the same on this engine?
