I also made a start installing the new facet pump.

I need to make a bracket for it, so I've left it there for now.
This weekend the manifolds have gone on and the carb, as well as some ignition related components.

As the engine is all together, and the wiring harnesses are connected up, and the oil pressure was good, it was time to attempt to start it. After messing around with the spark plug leads for a while, I didn't realise the distributor goes anti clockwise, she started!
Whilst this was going on, my brother sprayed the bonnet.

Fitted the rear screen. As this was the first screen if fitted, it was an absolute pain to fit until I realised I only needed to push the screen close enough to the seal to feed it over and not tight up to the seal.

Upper dash rail fitted. There's a little red led that is unused, presumably for an old alarm, that I'm going to use as a warning light for the inertia switch.

Last night, the windscreen was fitted. This was much easier than the rear, following the lessons learnt.

It looks like in my rush to get the car ready for the London to Brighton run in 2022, I didn't take many pictures.

Unfortunately it could not be repaired at the roadside and had to be towed home. End of this run for this year. We were only about 1 mile from our destination (Sewerby).

The fly wheel pulley bolt had fallen out and could be heard rattling around between the pully wheel and the engine mount. The woodruff key channel has been damaged, so I decided to buy a replacement.
The replacement...

Think I'll paint it before I fit it to the car, so had a go with my new shot blasting cabinet,

I'm going to put a duplex timing chain on it since I have to remove the timing chain to replace the woodruff key that has sheared in half.

I see from your third picture that you engine does not have a CAT so I hope it is ULEZ compliant.
