Hi CarlHi John,Hi Ben
Another great restoration the Midget looks amazing, Darren must be well pleased with the outcome?
What work have you got to do on the Mk 2 Cooper S and is it still OK to drop my Mini in next week ready for its repairs?
John
Are you driving your mini back when you collect it or trailering it home?
My mini is with Ben to have some accident damage repairs carried out, the damage was caused while it was parked and the culprit didn't leave there details, so this is being carried out under my insurance. The insurance works include replacing the passenger door and A panel, repairing passenger wing, windscreen scuttle on both sides and painting as required.
Ben is also going to carry out some other works outside of the insurance works theses are:-
Repairing the holes where the arches have been removed and then respraying the sides.
Replacing the Front screen (existing screen is going cloudy in the corners)
Fitting new Chrome side trims (I have attempted it myself and failed so I am leaving it to the expert).
I dropped it off this morning and will be driving it back once Ben has worked his magic on it.
Well that’s my cunning plan scuppered
Back to planning to get mine over

Hi all, the Midget has been with our mechanic for a tune up, the last mechanical finishing, tracking and a full grease up.
I took a photo after he had finished setting up the carbs
Unfortunately, whist he he was doing this, the float chamber on the front carb decided to start overflowing everywhere . He checked the float and the valve and couldn't see any obvious issues but it kept doing it so he ended up servicing the carbs with a rebuild kit.
Its all fine now and purring like a kitten.
Thanks
Ben

It's ready to MOT now.
Steve has given it a pre-mot and had it been a proper one, it would have passed.
I wanted to make sure that everything was finished before the MOT was carried out and the 'to do' list is now down to 3 small things.
These are:
vague fuel gauge
Touch up a couple of small marks underneath the car
Waxoil underside of floors.
I'm going to need a ramp to finish this and I can't get on one until Tuesday.
So the car will be ready by the end of next week.
Something exciting happened today though, I took the Midget out for a roadtest.
here are a couple of photos of it taken on the way back
I took others but failed to notice that the lens was dirty and so there are shadows.
I covered just over 30 miles this afternoon and i'm pleased to report that the car performed perfectly
Cheers
Ben
