That crackle finish looks great! As does the polished paintwork

I'm still working through the stubborn electrical gremlins but had a break from that to paint the hard top
Flatted the primer and prepped it up
And then colour
Just needs a flat and polish and it's ready to fit

You make that look so easy..................
As only a pro would.
Looks grand i must say, certainly better than BL ever produced.

I'm getting somewhere with the wiring now. The joys of 40+ year old wiring
I have now managed to paint the sills
First, the area to be painted was masked off and prepped
And then on went the black
Sorry about the dirty camera lens
And here is what they look like furnished

Hi Ben
I spoke to Merlin Motorsports today and they suggested a couple of things regarding the harness, you can remove the eye bolt and snap fixing and wind the belt around the harness bar, but he did say if the harness bar is very close to the seat which it is there may not be enough adjustment to do that on the three point harness
so he suggested the 4 point harness because you can also remove the snap fixing and really shorten the straps almost to the TRS lettering, although in writing this the reason they suggested the 3 point was trying to put both straps through the headrest was going to make the harness uncomfortable against my neck. I'll give'm another call next week

Roger and I were discussing the sills this afternoon after I painted them. We both agree that there is no other way than having them the original black.
It really completes the look of the car

My first thought was to remove the buckle and wrap round but you are quite right, the shoulder straps are too long and the section where they go from 2 straps to one is exactly where they would need to wrap.
I have been waiting all day to hear back from Frontline as they have various pictures on their website showing cars they build fitted with your cage and your seats. All their pics show harnesses fitted so I asked them to recommend some.
I just keep drawing a blank with my research as everything I can find is not suitable for a cage that is so close to the back of the seat

I agree, I've seen quite a few really nice restored midgets but they have body coloured sills and it just doesn't look right

How will 3 or 4 point harness make any difference going through the headrest? It'll still be two straps going through.
Car Builder Solutions do some harnesses with shorter shoulder straps - will adjust down to 500mm.

I like it on those wheels- they're very 'period' and make a nice change on a midget from minilites or rostyles
If those wheels were restored it'd look well on them
