Probably been asked a million times before...whats the best fuel cap to buy for a mini. I have bought countless standard locking fuel caps only to have it damaged and the fuel taken time and time again!!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Its starting to become a little to costly!!!

Difficult as the locking is only provided by the ears on the filler neck and the locking caps can simply be twisted off when locked. I had a Monza locking one on mine and that could be unscrewed? are they forcing the lock or twisting it off?

How about the Aston style ones where the locking cap fits inside the outer flip lid. They would have more difficulty prising it off but they might just make more of a mess

I thought about this but they can be unscrewed. I need a heavy duty metal one. All the ones i have seen have plastic and metal.

I'd be careful if you make it too strong they'll probably damage the car because that's what low lifes do :-(

Is there any way to insert a wire cage into the tank so a syphon tube would get stuck.

Fitting a fake right hand tank filler cap connected to a Lucas sport coil mounted in the boot would be my advice :-)

never had a problem with them just make sure you get the right one red or greem

A vented cap has been fitted to Minis during its history but must not be fitted to any Injection cars as they require a sealed system

I run injection on my 7 port using an mpi tank vented as per the carb type i.e. under the boot floor, is this a problem? What happens if I run a vented cap?
