If you do run SC drops on the road it is advisable to wear ear plugs. I certainly do and I still hate the whine from them.

Now I suffer from Tinnitus and I can tell you that it is a most unpleasant problem. I put it down to not realising what excessive noise has done to me over many years and this includes rallying in noisy cars, working in noisy environments with angle-grinders and going to noisy night-clubs & discos. All I can say is learn from this. You really don't want tinnitus in your life and if my experience helps than I am pleased.

One could make herringbone gears to solve all problems, I've enquired about this recently, and had a decent price for them to be made , but couldn't spark enough interest.

Tinnitus really is something to avoid, good friend of mine commited suicide after a few years of tinnitus.
