Hello, in classic mini style I went to use and there's yet another proplem

Metro engine with mechanical pump

Thought it was old rubber hoses so replaced them but now have realised the top of the pump rotates in my hand and copious amount of fuel leakes from around it

I'm about to try and take it off, has anyone had this before? Is it a new pump job?

It's off and if I put my hand round the turrets it's a bit stuff but I can rotate them 45 degrees ish each way

Update

So I want to buy a new one as I think it will be easier, but it never is O_O

My engine is a 1998 1275cc metro engine

1. http://www.minispare...ic/AZX1817.aspx <- For 1275cc 1990 Onwards

2. http://www.minispare...ic/AZX1818.aspx  <-  cc not stated, but for Pre 1990

3. https://www.minispor...cc-1969-90.html <- For 998cc 1969-1990

But Mini spares lists the same pump as mini sport (Pump 2 and 3 on the links) both have the same part number AZX1818 only mini sport (Pump 3 on the links) list this pump specifically for 998cc engines

what to do ?

(ring them obviously, but discussion is always good for the community)

I have repaired them. You'll want to remove the pump to do this do you don't break it, The top is crimped in to the lower section, most times, a few taps around the crimped part to tighten it up is enough, though some I've needed to araldite.
