I just thought that I would update the story of The Contessa! with nowt else going on,
on a Saturday afternoon, been a bit of a busy time in the last couple of weeks, with
a visit to Holland to see family, also deliver an old steering wheel to a Dutch collector
and Mini nut/owner saw his very nice Sportpack! then this week Thursday, had a photo
shoot for MiniWorld magazine! should be in sometime soon,
a couple of shots with my iPhone up on the edge of Saddleworth moor,
my original wish to get the photo shoot done at Shibden Hall was a no goer the request was
turned down! (gardeners don't like cars on soft grass??
This was as close to Shibden Hall as I could get,
next up are a couple of local Yorkshire shows, then a visit to the Mini and Metro show at Gaydon,
then the next weekend down to The Cooper Register day at Beaulieu, hopefully some decent weather
will be here by then. please say hello if your there!!
Thanks for looking, although it does seem to me to be a bit quiet on the forum these days, however it
nice to see some of the other threads on peoples builds, keep it up folks and best of luck.

For those interested in the history of these cars I received a couple of photos today,
the main question I am asked when people see my Contessa! is how many did they
build? I now know of three,
This one belonged to the father of one of my daughter in laws friends, and was at
one time supposed to have been owned by a member of Smokie a Bradford based
beat group, unfortunately the car was trapped years ago.
I don't know any more about the car! but from the photos the naked lady emblem on
the grille is visible (one of Oylers trade marks) it also appears to have twin tanks and
Cooper S 3 and a half inch wheels fitted.
As said on the last post, MiniWorld did a photo shoot and the car should be in the
next issue, got some new parts for the roof and it now opens a bit easier,
couple of photos from a local show last weekend in some regal company
Thanks for looking,
Frank

You really owe me a tenner now ;)

I take it this is what you mean James, as said before if you are at any shows about the Beers on me
unless you need the tenner to help Finnish your resto project,
I am happy that MiniWorld have shown the Contessa to the wider Mini World!! makes it all worth
the time and effort! as that was the main aim of buying and restoring a very rare Coachbuilt Mini,
from first looking at it, posting on here asking about it , Mab01uk Martin Bell answering, all the
comments ,views and likes on here, and so far anywhere it goes there is always great interest in it.
To me personally I love driving it, and showing it of! as these cars should be and not hidden away
in somebody's private collection.
A couple of shots at Blyton at the weekend where it picked up the Car of The Show
sadly as previously posted in another thread! it broke down on the way home! my
first thoughts were coil fault but it turned out to be the power sparks ignition module
which lasted just 380 mls

Frank it is great to see the Miniworld feature and your recent award at Blyton and very glad to have been of help at the beginning to convince you it was a rare Mini well worth saving. Hope to see The Count & Countess at the Beaulieu coachbuilt Mini display in June.
