Was thinking supercharged at the back and natural at the front giving it a 40fronf/60rear power distribution. Having an engine in the back would give it a bit more weight, so then I could really lighten my mini and then tow it to shows legally.Do it!!!
Twin supercharged?

Is there not a law against two engines running on separate gearboxes etc for a road going car
Bloody law makers. Have to investigate further.

Supercharged rear, NA front sounds like a good idea yeah. Give the front wheels a break in corners ?

Thinking of putting an engine in the back and make if 4wd. Am I mad? How hard can it be? Could pinch a few ideas from the gtm forum. Is there any reason why I can't have the gear selector rod coming out of the of the selector box and connecting to a gtm selector rod and have the normal one coming out the front?
Are you mad ? Well,,,,, it might sound a good idea but given it's largely not a reversible modification (as far as the body goes), I'd strong suggest you find one (Mini or Moke) to try first. Yes, it will have some added get up and go, but they are not as good as might first appear and certainly handling suffers in a big way - in part because of the added weight at the back and also in part because of the suspension set up and bump steer (which with some careful planing, can be largely dialed out).
A few people have modified the gearbox in the way you are thinking, though, you'll loose reverse gear you also need to fit an engine steady, that will couple both engines together as well as the gear shifter, otherwise, one engine will cause the other to slip out of gear quite often. You can't use the stock steady mount on the front engine though, or you'll soon tear it clean off.

That's my understanding too.
Can't be any different legally to modern hybrids with an engine at the front and a motor at the back surely?
...photographic evidence on this forum in a leccy Mini conversion topic.
The whole regulatory system has moved on though. ABS & Airbags are a thing but we can't legally touch 'em as amateur builders.
It's all type approval and don't touch on new cars.
Pity because you could keep your engines in sync with electronics at least as reliably as mechanically nowadays.

Or maybe some over-centre clips, nice and secure but easily removable
