I haven't tested these Vacuum Advance Units for this, but I do know with some, with under Vacuum they will give Advance, with some, under Positive Pressure, they dial in Retardation.

Respectfully, I think have a Vacuum Advance on this engine is not at all wise.

It possibly might seem a 'complication' that you're not interested in, however, I really feel that you'd be better off with a PC programmable (mappable) Ignition System with this set up.

Stuart at Vmax uses this vacuum dizzy on his daily drive with the weber supercharger kit.

Spoke to him yesterday and there's a couple of things 1. I need to get my idle to 900 rpm  ( was about 1100) and change the jets in the carb to 140's. So I will give that a go. The jet change is mainly for the richness when under load (its dropping below 10:1).

Also spoke to Aldon yesterday and they have suggested I manually input the dwell on the Amethyst to 70 and then try either side (60 and 80) to see if that stops the 10 degrees fluctuation I was getting when on the RR at vmax.

So I'll get the jetting correct and then swap my Aldon locked dizzy back and test the Amethyst.

Went to a local car meet the other day and stumbled across this old boy. Looks great and has given me some ideas. I particularly liked the snorkel that folds down, I could do something like that with mine - from snorkel to air ram.Attached File  20190813_191505_resized_1.jpg   66.89K   0 downloadsAttached File  20190813_191353_resized_1.jpg   47.59K   1 downloadsAttached File  20190813_191402_resized_1.jpg   45.16K   1 downloads

They are a great Idea, I was considering something like these, but I couldn't find a place that I was happy to fit them.

What I do have though is an Insulated Post (front connect) under the bonnet, it's a main junction for all the Main +ve Cables and does double as a convenient place to clip a jumper cable on to.

Where did you get those terminals Bubba?  Been thinking of this for a while for my clubby estate - under the back seat isn't the best for jump starting...

I was going to put them on the ally plate on the bulkhead, but it's a bit close to fuel for my liking. Think I'll make a bracket to fit below the bonnet seal on the left wing near the fuses. I can bolt it direct to the power supply to the starter motor then.Attached File  20190819_193642_resized.jpg   78.25K   0 downloads
