Not great considering it's only done 50 miles.

I'm far from having much experience with Webers (or similar) Carbs, but I was always of the impression that they shouldn't be hard mounted but soft mounted on O rings and Thackeray Washers ?

My Dellorto has been hard mounted for the past 9 months and I've had no issues.

Why's that? Are you referring to the way the carb is bolted to the charger?I'm far from having much experience with Webers (or similar) Carbs, but I was always of the impression that they shouldn't be hard mounted but soft mounted on O rings and Thackeray Washers ?

As I did mention, I didn't have a lot of experience with them, but all the side droughts I've seen fitted and not just on Minis, have been soft mounted and yes, the way the carb is hard bolted up to the Charger.
Here's Weber's advice;-

There's a layer of sikaflex inbetween the two. That might absorb abit of vibration, hopefully.

Oh well, I can see all of these kits being hard mounted. Looks like the holes on the carb have been milled out a bit, to either take the flange welded to the charger or to take bigger bolts. Do you think I should get those gaskets with the o ring built in then?
Maybe ask about this with the guy who does the Superchargers?

The issue with the fuel is because of the vibrations shacking the fuel out of the float chamber.
But I am sure the developer has worked this out an knows what they are doing.
But this is what I had when I first fitted a sidedraught carb on a Mini.
Now you mention this Nick, i recall my Brother had this issue. While he had the soft mount kit, he didn't realise the washers were a Thackeray Washer and how they worked. He did them up tight and the fuel would sometimes come out of the float chamber. Afte he was shown and backed them off, the issue went away. Thinking back, this was a very long time ago - I was still in School !
