Welded on the hinges today. It feels a lot sturdier that I thought it would. Just need to get the front panel welded in below the screen so I can relocate the wipers above the hinge pivot.

I am saddened. It looks like the web site and Facebook page have been abandoned. Maybe someone else will pick up the business and make a go of it?

Started work on my bonnet today. The AMC bonnet is a bit flatter than a moke and makes it look even more like Noddys car. Being as I'm going for a hummer look I decided to make the bonnet slanted, as well a more aggressive look, it has the added benefit of putting grills in for cooling. The 8 holes on the back are for letting hot air out, will be putting slats in like the front of a hummer. Nearly got it done out of one sheet of Aluminium.

Had to bite the bullet and swap the cars round. Putting 'Monty' yes monty ( sad, I know) in the garage. It looks massive in my single (ish) garage. It prompted me to measure the ride height. 13 inches! I like the look though, a right beast. Need to raise the back abit more!20170518_084204.jpg20170518_084215.jpg20170518_084607.jpg

Looks good although I must say the tyres look like some I have on my garden tractor.
The tyres are dmack, soft compound gravel rally tyres used on mk I and II escort rally cars. You must have a serious garden tractor.

Just fitting the hand brake today and in the box of bits I got with the shell I can not find anything to guide the hand brake cable to the the quadrants. What normally is part of the centre of the rear subframe, I have nothing (no rear subframe). Wondered if I buy a pair of quadrants and fix them solid to the centre of the rear part of the ladder chassis (where the guides on a normal mini subframe are) would that do the trick?

There's a bit if angle iron welded on as a bracket with holes in already. May be the newer amc cub had 2 pairs of quadrants

Decided to build the engine specifically for this project instead of chopping and changing engines over. Got a nice little delivery from MED the other day, 18cc Omega pistons and their balanced light weight clutch assembly.
